Most online racing games make you sign up, add friends and download a client before anyone gets to race. Here you make a room, send one link, and everyone who opens it is on the same grid a few seconds later, on a phone or a computer.

How a private room works

Make a room. One tap on Race friends opens a new room on today’s circuit.
Send the link. Share it in any chat, or let a friend scan the QR code on your screen. Opening it puts them straight in the room.
Everyone picks a name. Names are checked before they are shown, and each one rides on the back of that player’s car.
The host sets the race. The host drives the gold car and chooses the circuit and the number of laps; everyone else is given a colour of their own.
Race. When everyone is ready the lights go out and you race side by side in real time. Afterwards the host can run it again or move to the next circuit.

Multiplayer racing without the setup

A private race is just for you and your friends: it never touches the public leaderboards, so nobody worries about their record. When you want to race people you have never met, a ranked race puts you on a grid of other players’ recorded laps on every circuit, and your best lap is ranked against theirs.

How many people can race in a private room?

Up to five: the host and four friends.

Do my friends need an account or a download?

No. They open the link in a browser and they are in the room.

Can we race on phones?

Yes. The game runs in mobile browsers with on-screen touch controls, and phones and computers can race in the same room.

Do private races count on the leaderboards?

No. Private races are just for fun; only ranked races are filed on the leaderboards.
